The District’s distribution system covers 403 miles of pipeline ranging in size from 4” to 42” in diameter, and is maintained along with 23 active water wells and 17 booster stations, and 22 water tanks with total storage capacity of 52.6 million gallons of water.
Palmdale Water District is pleased to present to our customers a new more informative water bill format that enables our customers to view a clear picture of their water use. There are several new features added to the bill format, the most important change that customers should be aware of is that there will be NO MORE separate late notices sent out. See the new bill format highlights and information on the inside pages.
PWD will explain with help from Aquadog’s graphics shown on the opposite page. We all get a water bill, but do we know what goes into the charges we see on our bill, not really? That is why the District wants you to know, when you look at your water bill, you know exactly why that charge is there.
PWD’s Strategic Water Resources Plan establishes the District’s objectives for future growth and identifies the steps to meet those objectives for the future needs of its customers. The population in the District’s service area is expected to double in size over the next 25 years, which in turn means that customer’s water needs will also double in size.
The Palmdale Water District introduced the “Water Budget-Based Rate Structure” in 2009 and our customers have become pros on using water more efficiently. In April of 2012, 83 percent of our customers are staying within tier one of their water budget allocation and are receiving the lowest possible rates.
The sustainability of California’s economy depends upon a reliable source of water. The Sacramento_San Joaquin River Delta (Delta) is the hub of our state’s water delivery system and home to one of California’s most important ecosystems. Twenty_five million Californians —nearly two_thirds of the state’s population — and millions of acres of farmland rely on water that passes through the Delta. The survival of many endangered species depends on the habitat of the Delta.
In order to take advantage of the best Southern California Edison rates available for PWD’s booster stations and well sites the District meets regularly with its SCE representative. These meetings provide the District with the ability to keep up to date with current rates, or when necessary, change to new lower rates to keep costs down.

The new website was designed and created with you, the customer, in mind. Easy management of accounts, paying bills, finding service applications, rebate forms, educational projects and programs, and employment opportunities are among the website features available right at your fingertips!
Customers will no longer receive separate late notice billing. In the near future, monthly water bills will state the amount you owe with a “pay by this date” and an amount to be paid after the due date. To prevent additional charges please send your payment in before the due date.
