Palmdale Water District Hosts Plant Sale

PALMDALE, CA, JUNE 11, 2014 –The Palmdale Water District is hosting a plant sale. The District has partnered with local landscape professionals to bring the community a plant sale. Our goal is to feature sustainable plants for the high desert, provide information on our CASH FOR GRASS PROGRAM and show customers how to design a water wise landscape.

Saturday Morning June 14 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM
2029 EAST AVENUE Q PALMDALE, CALIFORNIA

Our plant sale will not only inspire your creative ability, but will provide information on all types of water wise plants, smart irrigation, and information on the District’s rebate programs. If you are a Palmdale Water District customer you can also sign up for the District’s “Cash for Grass” Program and receive information on the District’s other rebate programs.

Our professionals include: AV Garden and Turf, Green Bee Nursery, AV Resource Conservation District, Home Depot, C & M Top Soil Inc., Landscape Centers and the Hi Desert Iris and Daylily Society.

🚧 Take a look at our #bestcrewever repairing a damaged main line. PWD Service Workers quickly located the leak, replaced the broken section, and restored water service with minimal disruption. Great job, Team!

💧 A New Chapter Begins for the Palmdale Ditch 💧
Today, we officially broke ground on a historic project that will convert the 1880s Palmdale Ditch into a modern, enclosed pipeline. Once completed, it will save about 1,500 acre-feet of water annually.

This multi-million dollar investment, funded in part by grants from the CA Department of Water Resources and the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, ensures a more climate resilient future for Palmdale and surrounding communities.

A special thank you to our staff and project partners at Garney Construction and Hazen and Sawyer for helping bring this milestone to life. The energy at today’s event was filled with optimism, collaboration, and a shared commitment to the water conversation ahead. 💙

The #bestcrewever made smart adjustments to keep everyone safe! They moved the air-vac equipment out of the way to make sure the walkway stays clear while nearby ramps are being updated. Pedestrian safety is always our top priority. 💙
