admin May 30, 2017

Palmdale, CA- Longtime Palmdale Water District Employee, Matt Knudson, undertakes a new adventure to nevertheless continue to further challenge himself as Assistant General Manager for a neighboring water agency, Antelope Valley-East Kern Water Agency (AVEK).

Matt was still attending high school when he began working for Palmdale Water District. He was encouraged by his drafting teacher to attend an interview with the District. Matt was interviewed and offered an internship in the Engineering Department performing Computer-Aid Design and Drafting. A year and half into the internship Matt’s hard work and dedication earned him a full-time position offer with the District. Since then Matt has held various leadership positions and has been a part of the continual growth and development of the Palmdale Water District.

Some of Matt’s proudest moments with the agency were, “Watching co-workers develop as employees and witnessing a group of people working together to provide the most vital public service, water,” said Matt Knudson. Matt is not venturing far as he continues to have a passion for playing a part of providing and delivering clean and safe drinking water to our surrounding communities.

“Matt’s broad skills and knowledge on and off the field were a great asset to Palmdale Water District and our customers. He will certainly be a great benefit to AVEK,” said Dennis LaMoreaux, General Manager for Palmdale Water District. The District would like to thank Matt for his time spent with our organization. 🍂💧PWD Fall Watering Recommendations💧🍂
With cooler weather, landscapes need less water to stay healthy. Adjusting your schedule saves water, protects our supply, and keeps your yard thriving.

✅ Fall Guidelines (Oct–Dec):
Water 2 days a week
Run each sprinkler zone for 5 minutes
Total per day: about 15 minutes per watering day
Total per week: 30 minutes per week

🌱 Pro Tips:
Water early morning or evening to reduce evaporation.
Aim water at the outer edge of your plant’s canopy, not just the base.
Check sprinklers often, misdirected sprays waste water on sidewalks & driveways.

Every drop makes a difference. Let’s use water wisely together. 💙
