Press Release- Cinco Años de Sequía: Conservación del Agua es una Forma de Vida

Palmdale, CA – California ha experimentado lo que espectadores describirían como el fin de un hechizo seco. Informes publicados el jueves por la mañana por el Monitor de sequía de los Estados Unidos, indican que un 51% de California permanece entre una sequía “moderado” o “extrema” y ninguna parte del estado permanece en una sequía “excepcional”.

Aunque hubo informes favorables, el estado probablemente mantendrá las normas de conservación de sequía en lugar. Funcionarios estatales anticipan prohibir permanentemente la pérdida del agua por malos hábitos como pulverización por las aceras con mangueras de agua y continuarán a prohibir el uso de aspersores por 48 horas después de una precipitación medible. La Junta Estatal de Control de recursos de agua aún no han hecho su decisión final y discutirán las normas de conservación de la sequía en la próxima reunión que se llevará a cabo el 07 de febrero de 2017.

El distrito de agua de Palmdale ha hecho unas de sus prioridades extender sus recursos de agua. Una manera seria la utilización de agua reciclada y finalmente haciéndola disponible a los clientes. Como comunidad beneficiamos de los suministros de agua locales reduciendo la dependencia de Palmdale de fuentes externas. El distrito ha desarrollado un proyecto innovador llamado Groundwater Recharge and Recovery Project que produjera regionalmente agua viable y fuera una materia prima en el futuro de nuestra comunidad.

“Con la sequía que nos ha seguido los últimos cinco años, conservación se ha convertido en una forma de vida para muchos en todo el estado,” dijo Joe Estes, miembro de la Junta del distrito de agua de Palmdale. “Distritos han tenido que prever escasez e invertir en reforzar sus reservas de agua. En el PWD estamos buscando maneras de usar el agua reciclada en el futuro. Planeamos continuar a suministrar a nuestros clientes actuales y futuros con agua de alta calidad”.

No hace falta decirlo, Distrito de agua de Palmdale y sus clientes han hecho un gran trabajo en la conservación del agua. Puesto que las regulaciones fueron adoptadas primero en 2010 y hasta esta fecha no hemos tenido problemas con esfuerzos de conservación de agua.

Muchos clientes han quitado y reemplazado a su césped con plantas y paisaje de desierto que es sencillo y amigable a nuestro ambiente. El distrito ha ofrecido en el pasado el programa de Cash for Grass pero debido a su popularidad se han agotado sus fondos.
