The City of Palmdale and PWD jointly created PRWA in 2013 to study, promote, develop, distribute, construct, install, finance, use and manage recycled resources created by the Sanitation Districts of Los Angeles County Nos. 14 and 20 for various uses, including irrigation and recharge, and to finance the acquisition and construction or installation of recycled water facilities, recharge projects and irrigation systems. Its first project has been irrigating McAdam Park with recycled water.
The PRWA Board is composed of two members of the Palmdale City Council, two members of the PWD Board of Directors and the public member. The PRWA Board meets at 6 p.m. on the third Monday of the month.
