Water is a limiting factor regarding current and future development, long-term sustainability of the High Desert, and an essential resource which needs conservation and educated decision makers to ensure that a balanced approach toward water reliability is a significant factor when choices and decisions are made that will impact the whole desert community.
The High Desert Water Summit 2015, brought a focus to current State water issues, provided a forecast of future water reliability efforts, the status of the High Desert Aquifer, and showcased a panel of local water agencies, the Building Industry Association, and a municipality that discussed concerns, real-life issues, water reliability, and struggles maintaining aging infrastructure.
The Summit provided elected officials, water agencies, and the business and agricultural communities the opportunity to network and learn about the difficulties that our region is experiencing in order to better understand how to work as a regional community regarding water supply. Uniting as a High Desert community to ensure that resources are protected has never been more important.
