Should water conservation be rewarded?
The Palmdale Water District thinks so! In an effort to heighten water awareness the District has started its Blue Ribbon Water Week effort to inform and educate the public in water conservation.
Who should participate and when will Blue Ribbon Water Week occur?
All Palmdale Water District customers are asked to participate in Blue Ribbon Water Week. The inaugural event will be held during the week of March 6-10, 2006. By promoting this event we would like our customers to become actively involved in water conservation. In doing so they will increase their water awareness, reduce their water consumption, and become eligible to receive a variety of prizes and incentives for doing so.
I'm a Palmdale Water District residential customer and I want to learn about other areas that will help with water conservation. Where can I get more information?
By filling out the Home Water Audit Checklist you will take the first step in water conservation. Future articles and awareness promotions will assist you in other ways to save water and reduce your water consumption.
Topics may include how to start using Xeriscape. Just by taking out some grass and replacing it with water tolerant plants you have starting the process of using Xeriscape. Introduce an ET based controller for use with irrigation sprinklers is a great way to control water waste. Even purchasing a water saving cloths-washer will save water as well as electricity.
