STEP 1 - Service
Application
|
|
|
The completion of a Service Application is required
for all new account applicants as well as a new account setup fee of $40.00
($25 for current existing customers). Included in the Application form is a
Credit check waiver in lieu of a cash deposit. Refer to step 2 for a
detailed explanation regarding credit worthiness.

STEP 2 - Establishment
of Credit
|
|
The Palmdale Water District requires a deposit for
most residential services in the amount of $200.00 (refundable upon meeting
District criteria). In lieu of this requirement
the District can run a credit check to determine credit
worthiness in which case the initial deposit may be waived.

STEP 3 – Other Documents
Needed

Other
Documents that must be submitted at time of application a copy of the
Authorization to List and Sell from Mortgage lender (or Assignment Agreement
letter, Listing Agreement), and a copy of the grant deed, trustees deed
upon sale or Notice of Trustee Sale.

STEP 4 - Proof of
Identity
|
|
Proof of identity must be submitted at time of application and would include, but not
be limited to, a copy of applicant's valid picture ID with signature.
Examples include, a valid State driver's license, valid U.S. Military
identification card, or California Identification (ID) card.
If obtaining the water service in a company name we
will also need DBA/articles of incorporation as well as an authorized
signers list on company letterhead.

STEP 5 - Final Check
List and Cover Sheet

For your convenience, we have included a printable
cover sheet and checklist that may be used to accompany your document
package via FAX transmission (661) 456-1086, or personal delivery to
our customer service department. You
can fax your service request documents however we do not offer same day
service on faxes as it can take up to 7 business days to process. If
you need water service turned on the same day you must personally deliver
the applicable documents to the customer service department on or before 3:30 p.m. excluding weekends or holidays.

Issues that can delay or cause your application from being processed include the following: |
- If
Proof of Ownership, or Proof of Identity are not present upon
initial application submission the application will be denied.
- Unsigned
water service application.
- If
credit is deemed unworthy, the applicant will be notified by a
District authorized representative to obtain required deposit for
service activation.
- Non-Payment
of Application and credit check inquiry charges.
- Do
Not attempt to turn on your Water Service Customers
Customers who request activation of
service shall be responsible for damage resulting from such activation
due to open or faulty piping and/or fixtures on the customer's property.
