An independent special district
The Palmdale Water District is an independent special district. Special districts provide accountability to the public. They provide a means to vote selectively and provide customers the opportunity to express their preferences more precisely. The most basic virtue of a special district is to allow citizens to customize government to suit their needs.
Five-member Board
The District is governed by a five-member Board of Directors. With the District’s water service boundaries divided into five different areas, or divisions, a Director is elected to serve a four-year term from each of these divisions. Directors must live in the division they are elected to serve. Directors are elected by all customers of the District.
District Board Meetings
The Board of Directors has meetings each month. They are held the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m.
These meetings are held at the District's main office located at 2029 East Avenue Q, Palmdale CA 93550.
All meetings of the Board of Directors use Robert's Rules of Order as a guideline and shall be governed by the Ralph M. Brown Act pursuant to the California Government Code section 54950 et seq. The public is welcome to attend and there is a period reserved on the agenda for public comment.
